Love in a new TV Show

Has love ever made you crazy? Would you swim across Lake Ontario to be with your dearest? Or is there a bond between yourself and a sibling so strong that nothing could ever drive you apart? What would you do for love?

That is the question behind The Things We Do For Love, an exciting new documentary series currently in production and airing this January on Life Network. Produced by Edmonton's Great North Productions (Acorn: The Nature Nut), The Things We Do For Love is looking for Canadians who want to share their funny, touching or unusual love stories with the rest of the world.

The Things We Do For Love explores stories bred from Canada's unique geography, worldview and multicultural society. From Whitehorse to Windsor, Dartmouth to Delta, Canadians are as passionate as any "Latin Lover" from sunnier climes. Ours may be a rugged country but the people are extremely warm hearted, going to great lengths for those they care about.

Stories abound about geographically challenged romances, steadfast devotion of siblings and unwavering friendship, proving that actions speak louder than words. Like a son donating an organ for his father, or a lover travelling halfway across the country to propose, Canadians' love stories are as varied and vast as the land itself.

Each half-hour segment of this 13-part series will feature three stories of love, taking an affectionate and an ironic look at our passions and ourselves. The Things We Do For Love explores all aspects of love and what we'll do to find it, keep it and make it grow. It's also a show about hope, inspiring those who may be looking for love with tales of others' successful quests. The Things We Do For Love shows us that, while we may live in different parts of the country, leading very different lives, we share so much when it comes to that most human of emotions, love.
